Absent Gallery's debut exhibition, Conformist in Concentrated Rainfall, brings together five artists from diverse backgrounds DING Ling, XUE Ying, XU Dengqian, ZHANG Junlei, and TONG Mo whose works - ranging from writings, filmmaking to installation
to painting. Presenting their investigations of potential conformist impulses and reflections on rationalization in different culture contexts of contemporary people in the data network of common practices. The exhibition offers prudent intersectional perspectives, opens multiple space for free dialogue and reflection without requiring viewers to conform to established ideals and norms. Freeing them from the rational rhythms of catering to systemic discipline or performance, and also from the hidden principles of structure.

Absent Gallery is a contemporary art gallery established in late 2023 by two directors with overseas backgrounds. The gallery is committed to exploring the boundaries and possibilities of contemporary art with emerging artists from hybrid cultural backgrounds, with a particular focus on artists who are trans-regional and migratory in their personal experience and artistic vision. The gallery also features the ‘Rendering of Absence’ and ‘Craftsmanship Programme’ to provide young artists with more possibilities for diversified creations.

Absent Gallery 缺席画廊全新空间开幕首展「被淅沥浸湿的同流者」汇集了五位来自多元背景的艺术家 - 丁澪、薛萤、徐登谦、张钧雷、童默包括写作、影像、装置和绘画等形式的创作，呈现他们在不同环境语境下对当代人在共同实践的数据网络中潜在的顺从冲动的考察及对合理化的 反 思 。 展 览 旨 在 提 供 审 慎 的 交 叉 性 视 点 ， 为 自 由 对 话 和 反 思 开 辟 空间，不要求观众遵从既定的理想或规范，将他们从迎合系统规训或绩效的理性节奏中, 从隐秘的结构法则中解放出来。

Absent Gallery 是一家由两位海外回流的主理人于2023年末成立的当代艺术画廊。 画廊致力于与混合文化身份背景新锐艺术家共同探索当代艺术的边界和可能性，尤其关注在个人经历和艺术视野上具有跨区域和迁徙特质的艺术家。画廊同时设有 「Rendering of Absence 源缺 」及「Craftsmanship Programme 工艺」项目为年轻艺术家多元创作提供更多的可能。
