在不同语境中，缺席的概念亦有所不同，缺席（absence）即是普遍理解中的该到的未到，未出席于某一场合。在哲学语境中 “缺席” 则是存在的缺失状态，也就是存在隐蔽于此时此刻，概念中交织着时间与空间的含义，它一方面指事物在空间的隐蔽，另一方面指事物不在时间上的当下时刻（或在过去，未来）。"无顾缺席 Regardless of Absence"汇聚了十位青年艺术家，策划了一场物理层面上无观众出席、展览场地缺失的当代艺术展览，以多种媒介的作品呈现对不同意识层面的“缺席”之无顾的主题。作品以崭新的维度探索、反思和理解涉及记忆、情感、情绪、抉择、观念中藏匿的缺席状态的必然与偶然，以及有意或无意地“无顾”。同时，辩证解构在场/缺席的二元等级关系在当代的意义，重新探讨消解在场对于缺席的优先地位的可能。

The concept of absence varies in different contexts. Absence is commonly understood as the failure to be present, to be present on an occasion. In philosophical contexts "absence" is the state of absence of existence, that is to say, existence is hidden in the here and now, and the concept is intertwined with the meanings of time and space, which on the one hand refers to things hidden in space, and on the other hand, refers to things that are not in the present moment in time (or in the past, the future)." Regardless of Absence" brings together ten young artists to curate a contemporary art exhibition that is physically devoid of audience and exhibition space, presenting the theme of "Regardless of Absence" in a variety of media and at different levels of consciousness. The works explore, reflect and understand the inevitability and contingency of the state of absence hidden in memories, emotions, moods, choices, concepts, as well as the intentional or unintentional "disregard" in a new dimension. At the same time, the work dialectically deconstructs the contemporary significance of the binary hierarchy of presence/absence, and re-examines the possibility of dissolving the priority of presence over absence.
